Hundreds join Therme’s first public info session

23 Mar 2023

On March 22, we were pleased to welcome more than 300 guests to our latest public consultation. Thank you to everyone who joined us and for all the great questions. We received more than 120 questions and answered as many as we could during our 90 minutes together.

Alongside our landscape design and architecture partners, we walked participants through our plans for the West Island of Ontario Place. The presentation included an overview of the family-friendly activities available inside, plus the 12 acres of public parks we’re creating with a new beach, multi-use trails, gathering spaces, a wetland, new habitats, and improved access to Lake Ontario.

We understand that some users experienced technical difficulties with the Q&A function in the Microsoft Teams platform we used to host this event. We were able to take questions over email, and we are investigating the problem so that participants will have a better user experience in future. We appreciated the opportunity to answer many questions from the public about the environmental sustainability of the building, public access to the West Island and Lake Ontario, affordability, and impacts to existing trees and habitats.

We’ll also be updating our FAQ page with any new questions we received during the webinar and will continue updating the page with questions we get from you moving forward. So, keep checking back to our Project Updates page and keep sending us your questions!
